A trip to title chasing A.F.C Binfield was a daunting proposition despite the team finally winning after a 3 month wait last week. However, the team responded to the challenge in style, winning the game 3-1 to move out of the bottom three.

It looked bleak when the team went behind on 10 minutes with Charscot old boy Majewski heading home.

Just past the half hour mark Aldo Duscher headed in from a fine cross to level the scores.

As the game entered the final twenty minutes Hakan Mild determined the outcome with a four minute brace with two close range finishes.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards. "That was an outstanding performance and exactly what we needed to build on last week's win. We now go into a 3 game run where we must be looking for at least seven points. If we can do that then we will have every chance of survival, anything less and we will probably go down".

The manager moved to change the outlook of the squad with confirmation of two leaving via the auction market.

First up Jose Angulo joined the market today and Rob Rensenbrink is expected to go on the market in a few weeks.

Also a deal was struck that sees Milivoje Novakovic leave for Real Madrid with prospect Hector Rial arriving at The Blue Silver Stadium in exchange. Rial will be trained on his speed and may well get his first opportunity at the start of next season.
13/12/2021

Charscot's abysmal winless league run has lasted half a season meaning today's trip to Spondon Phoenix F.C saw the team face the last team they won a league game against.

Spondon are safe in 10th place and Charscot simply had to win as the games are starting to run out.

As it was the Wolverines rose to the challenge taking a convincing 2-0 win to finally end the worst run in the club's history.

Rivellino scored the club's leading 7th goal of the season with a close range shot on 27 minutes.

Substitute Christian Pulisic secured the win with a goal off of the bench on his debut since returning to the club with a close range tap in.

The win brings the team level on points with Beeston and the club in the relegation zone on goal difference.

Manager Rich Grove was relieved afterwards. "It has been so long since we got to enjoy a win  and now we need to take this result and look to repeat it at least four more times in the remaining seven weeks in all likelihood".

Of note in the youth team's 9-0 win today was Sean Allfrey scoring his 84th goal for the club in his 50th appearance. This broke the previous scoring record fro a youth player with 83 goals and with a few weeks left before leaving the club it is hoped he can get close to 90 goals.

06/12/2021

Charscot's pitiful run continued as a late goal gave visiting Longfield K.L.F a 1-0 win.

The team huffed and puffed but created little as they went down to another defeat and reached half a season without a league win.

The loss leaves the team in 14th and two points adrift of Beeston Athletic.

Manager Rich Grove challenged his players afterwards. "We simply have to beat Spondon next week. They were the last team we beat in the league and if we don't stop this atrocious run very soon relegation is certain".

Changes are expected at the club although the manager has grown frustrated at the lack of decent offers in swap deals.

29/11/2021

Charscot's relegation seems more likely with each passing week and this week was no different as the team turned a goalless draw into a three goal loss with a pitiful second half display at Rhyl F.C.

The loss leaves the club in 14th place and 2 points adrift of Beeston Athletic.

Manager Rich Grove was very brief afterwards. "I have little to say, the players don't care clearly and I have just about given up on them".

With the club in disarray a future in Division One seems certain.

22/11/2021
Charscot are crashing towards Division One on the back of a 3 month winless league run. The latest loss follows two late goals that saw strugglign visitors Long Eaton Archers record an enormous 2-0 road win.

Manager Rich Grove looked a dejected figure postmatch. "At this point I really don't know what point there is in my carrying on as manager. This team is an embarrassment and they are not responding to nay of the instructions and simply do not appear to care what happensxc on the pitch ".

The manager apparently was talked into staying at the club after a long meeting with the directors but those close to him say he is close to walking away, having had enough of the constant poor results.
15/11/2021
Another awful week for Charscot as the team crashes ever closer to relegation whilst also exiting the cup.

The league match at fellow strugglers was won by Salford Quays 1-0 to push Charscot into the bottom three,

The team's atrocious league form was taken into the cup where the team lost 2-1 at St Joseph's BC in the live tv match of the week.

Manager Rich Grove was fuming afterwards. "No shame in losing to top flight sides but we simply have to put in a better performance than the garbage we have in recent mon ths. It is embarrassing how long we have gone without a league win and without an immediate reutrn to winning games we will relegate."

The team moved to bring in reinforcements with ex player Christian Pulisic returning to the club from Kilburn United later this week. Moving out in exchange are youth mids Luna and Ostergaard , who will stay for the short term before leaving the club.
08/11/2021

The visit of Champions Ziste Nerqueno for a derby match was not a welcomin g proposition for Charscot, still trying to win a game after no wins in nearly 3 months.

Ziaste took a huge first half lead, sacoring three goals with ease and a late rally by Charscot was of little consequence.

Rivellion and Zebeto scored to show their potential to be long term scorers for the club but the defensive frailty also indicates a team in serious trouble.

The 3-2 loss leaves the club in 12th place, outside the bottom three only on goal difference.

Manager Rich Grove was fuming after the match. "That was pitiful. The defending was a joke and this cannot continue. Just plain awful. I would happily swap most of the squad right now".

01/11/2021

The trip to Prestatyn Town took on greater significance with both sides fighting relegation.

Charscot have become increasingly desperate for a league win as the weeks have passed and today's match provided a killer late blow after Hakan Mild scored for his fourth consecutive match against Town to level the scores early in the second half.

With the match looking like ending all square Town scored with 10 minutes to go to get a big win.

With this loss Charscot dropped to 12th and just one point above the relegation places after failing to win in their last 9 matches.

Manager Rich Grove was very angry afterwards. "This is simply unacceptable. To not win for over a quarter of the season is embarrassing and if we don't find a way to start winning very quickly we will find ourselves in Division One next season. ".

25/10/2021

The visit of St Joseph's BC is never an easy match but the team has done well in recent seaosns against BC and a third consecutive league draw seemed likely.

Zebeto gave the hosts a lead on 32 minutes before Stockley equalised in the 57th minute.

The draw leaves Charscot 10th but four points clear of the bottom three.

The team made the trip north to face Division One side Broomhall Tigers in the cup and the Tigers took a first half lead only for Josef Bican to equalise ten minutes later.

The match went to a penalty shoot out with Charscot prevailing 2-1.

Manager Rich Grove was brief post match. "That is a decent point against BC but we really need to start winning matches if we want to avoid a relegation battle. Our cup performance was average at best and we were fortunate to go through on penalties".

A quiet week behind the scenes as the manager continues to judge the squad and who has a future at the club.

18/10/2021

The local derby between Charscot and Vanbrugh Royals saw a clash of two off form sides. Charscot have been poor in the past month and the Royals have yet to win a match as we reach the halfway point in the season.

As is typical of sides struggling for form neither side showed much quality in what amounted to a dull 1-1 draw where the visitors took a first half lead before Rivellino hit a sueprb lob on 67 minutes.

The draw leaves Vanrbugh all but certain to relegate and Charscot stuck in 10th and just 3 points off of the relegation spots.

Manager Rich Grove was less than impressed. "Just not good enough. This was the first of 3 home matches in 4 weeks and we need to win the next two to give us some breathing space at the bottom. Sadly this means little focus on our cup tie next week".

Another player leaving the club is Nandor Hideghuti, who is being placed on the auction market next week. More may follow.
11/10/2021

Charscot faced a trip to Shaolin F.C, flying high in second place and having beaten Charscot in recent meetings.

The team put in a superb performance, dominating for long periods. The Wolverines took the lead on 21 minutes as Rivellino scored from close range, a lead that was lost 11 minutes later.

Despite a top quality performance the team had to settle for a point, which saw them drop to tenth place and with a big match at home to all but relegated Vanbrugh Royals.

Manager Rich Grove had mixed feelings afterwards. "That was a top quality performance but there is a tinge of frustration at not turning the performance into 3 points. Very relieved to end the run of losses but we simply have to win at home to Vanbrugh Royals next week, anything less than a win will leave us in deep trouble".

More movement in the market as Henri Barthez and Jose Angulo joined the club from Dep El Celtico in the latest part of the large multi team deal.

Henri was expected to return to the club having been an unplayed member of the squad 8 years ago towards the end of this season but a loss of form meant he became available ahead of the scheduled date and with the current keepers not impressing was allowed to join up with his new team mates early.

Jose Angulo returns to the club he left as a 23 year old hoping to prove he has gained enough experience to be a valuable asset going forward.

Going in the opposite direction is Sandor Kocsis, a star club servant who is looking for a fresh challenge.

Another player leaving the club is Nandor Hideghuti, who is being placed on the auction market next week.
04/10/2021

Charscot had little confidence hosting in form The Academy and after a promising start the match went badly wrong in the second half.

It started well as Milivoje Novakovic tapped home on 14 minutes. When Bruno Gomes slipped and pushed the ball into his own net the hosts looked good for the victory.

However, the team fell apart in the second half conceding two goals early in the second half before a last minute winner for the visitors.

The loss sees the team still 8th but just a mere two points ahead of 15th.

The Manager was left fuming by the second half performance. "That was unacceptable. We put ourselves in an excellent position to win, and whilst our opponents are a very good side we just cannot affrod to lose two goal leads. The squad clearly isn't up to the challenges ahead and I have been left with no option but to make wholesale changes to the squad".

After a series of frustrating performances the manager proved true to his word as he made moves to change the squad this week.

Confirmed to be leaving the club are goalkeeper Frantisek Planocka and defender Sandor Kocsis. Both are joining local rivals Dep El Celtico as part of the deal to bring Svante Ingelsson to the club last week.

Also leaving are Valentino Mazzola and Ignacio Zoco. Both are headed to Inter Southampton of the Opal league with rising star Alberto Spencer joining Charscot in exchange. It has been no secret that both had deeply disappointed with their lack of scoring abilities since arriving and the manager decided it was time to move on.

Leaving within the next couple of weeks will be Nandor HJideghuti, who will be listed on the auction market.
27/09/2021

Charscot have been awful in the league at Beeston Athletic in recent seasons and despite a cup win 3 weeks ago the visitors did not travel with any confidence.

Once again The Wolverines put in a dominant display but found goals hard to come by and a Harit tap in on 267 minutes was enough to inflict a 1-0 loss.

The team remain in 8th place but are just four points off of the bottom three and the worry that the team could find themselves in a relegation battle is becoming more of a reality by the week.

Manager Rich Grove was fuming post-match. "There is no point in dominating if we have nothing to show for it. For a team with so many so-called stars we certainly don't show that in our results. I am evaluating the squad and will be making changes. I have already brought in Svante this week and players will be departing to Dep El once there is sufficient cover in terms of form for those leaving as part of a much larger deal involving other clubs".

The arrival of Svante, returning after leaving the club a few seasons ago is a gamble that may or may not pay off. Once considered a top talent his performance have dropped in recent seasons and once he gets a chance he will have to re-discover his form from years ago.

20/09/2021
Dep El have enjoyed a lot of success in their local derby with Charscot of late and that form continued as Charscot managed to concede three goals to a team that struggles to score at all on most weeks.

14 minutes in Josef Bican scored a ridiculous own goal as he swept a simple back pass into his own net with Planicka left stranded.

Six minutes later Zebeto tapped in after a mazy run to equalise and on half time Hakan Mild hit a beautiful lob from 30 yards to give the hosts the lead.

Jack Simpson's introduction off of the bench turned the match around as he scored twice in less than 20 minutes to give Dep El the 3-2 win.

The loss drops the team to 8th position and looking at a dull season or a relegation battle depending on results over the coming weeks.

Manager Rich Grove was very angry afterwards. "A truly awful performance today. The defending is laughable and clearly more changes are needed. At this point I am severely tempted to make major changes as clearly the current squad are not up to the job".

Bernard Voorhoof went out on loan to get some game time before being used next season and rumours abound of a likely deal between the two clubs that met today.

13/09/2021

A first trip to Whitebrook in 9 years didn't produce a classic match as neither side particularly impressed in a 1-1 draw.

The hosts took an early lead through Ehiosun's close range goal before Kylian Mbappe toepoked home ten minutes later.

The draw leaves Charscot 7th and well off of the pace at the top of the league.

Manager Rich Grove was unimpressed with the display. "That isn't good enough in any department. We look frail at the back and lethargic up front and the midfield isn't creating enough either. All in all we have a lot to do and these players had better be up for the challenge or they will be impressed".

After a quiet period behind the scenes moves were made this week to freshen up the starting line up.

First in was Nandor Hidegkuti, new arrival from the WS league. He arrives as an experienced player, just turned 29, who it is hoped can help the younger players who have been struggling to make their mark.

Also arriving is Charscot old boy Bernard Voorhoof, who left the club shortly before turning 18 and comes back from AFC Binfield as a fully trained 20 year old. Bernard will hope to push for a starting role fairly quickly.

Departing in the opposite direction is Juan Alberto Schiaffino. He has a long career ahead of him and everyone at the club wishes him well for his future.

Finally, the draw for the second round of the S.L.F.A. Cup sees the team travel to Division One side Broomhall Tigers, who had had a good start to the seaosn and will fancy their chances of recording a shock result.

06/09/2021

Visiting local rivals Beeston Athletic has been a dispiriting venture in recent seasons with five lossesc in the last six trips. Consequently confidence was not high entering the first round cup tie today.

However, the squad reacted brilliantly to the change in tactics and despite a goal against the run of play just past the half hour mark the Wolverines were not to be denied a win in this first ever meeting of the two sides in the cup.

Rivellino was the star of the game as he made his cup debut and scored a brace, the first a magnificent drive from distance to tie the scores on 37 minutes before grabbing the third goal for Charscot with a header with four minutes left.

Inbetwen these two strikes Hakan Mild scored from ten yards shortly after half time to give the club the lead.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards. "That was a superb performance against a top quality side and augurs well for the club going forward if these tactics can prove successful. We need to repeat this form when we visit Athletic in a few weeks and before that we need to re-produce this level of performance when we visit Whitebrook next week".

30/08/2021

A home game against A.F.C Binfield was a successful one for many years but last season the visitors recorded a 1-0 win and theye returned to The Blue Silver Stadium far more  confident and that confidence was well founded as they won 2-0 and leapfrogged the hosts in the table.

Charscot dropped to seventh place and six adrift of top spot.

Manager Rich Grove was disappointed afterwards. "We cannot afford to be so inconsistent, already this is looking like another season of obscurity and if we continue our poor record at Beeston in the cup next week the season could be dead in the water".

Behind the scenes the manager is looking into the shape of the squad but no deals appear imminent.

23/08/2021

Visiting Spondon Phoenix F.C had beaten the Wolverines in the last 6 meetings home and away so revenge was the word amongst the home fans and players today.

The match itself proved to be one with missed chances aplenty for both sides and the only goal came from a keeper error allowing Rob Rensenbrink the hosts a 1-0 win.

The win moved Charscot into third place, back to three points off of top spot and Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards.

"That was the sort of hard fought battle we have to be winning as we can't expect easy wins every week. We need to build on this as fifth placed A.F.C Binfield visit us next week".

In the Super Cup Charscot won 2-1 at Colwyn Bay in a meaningless game that finished the club's interest in the comp for another season.

16/08/2021

Charscot travelled to Longfield K.L.F full of confidence after an unbeaten run of five matches but found their luck escaped them as they dominated the match but somehow managed to lose 3-1.

The team were shell shocked going two down in the first eight minutes before Bican scored on the half hour mark to halve the deficit.

However, a contentious penalty just past midway in the second half killed off the visitor's hopes and ended the game as a contest.

The result dropped Charscot down to fifth place and four points adrift of top spot after 7 games.

Manager Rich Grove was frustrated afterwards. "We simply have to do a better job in the final third and stop squandering so many chances. This has been happening all season and it cannot carry on if we want this season to be anything but another poor one".

In the Super Cup the club's slim chances of progressing evaporated in a 3-1 loss at Barton Blitz, with nothing but a Svenssen  header to show for their efforts.

09/08/2021
Rhyl F.C arrived at The Blue Silver Stadium as unbeaten league leaders but the hosts were in confident mood themselves having only tasted defeat on week 1.

Charscot chose today to put in their best performance of the season, outclassing the visitors and dominating throughout. The only thing lacking was a scoreline to reflect that dominance.

It took just 90 seconds for Dan Finlayson to put through his own net under pressure to give Charscot the lead.

Zebeto's header made it 2-0 at the break and a home win seemed assured.

Rhyl did get a goal shortly after half time against the run of play with Hernandez scoring his fourth of the season but the hosts continued to dominate and finished 2-1 victors.

The win moved Charscot into third, level on points with RHyl and just a point adrift of top spot.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards. "That was a quite brilliant performance. We do need to take more of our chances but the win was still a great one against a previously unbeaten side. We now have a run of games against sides who have yet to get going this season and we cannot afford to be complacent and need to ensure we grab the wins whilst our form is an advantage".

In the Super Cup the team recorded a 1-0 win at Vanbrugh Royals with Novakovic scoring the winner to give the team a chance of progression with 2 games to go.
02/08/2021
The trip to Long Eaton Archers has proven reasonably fruitful in recent seaosns and today proved to be no different as Charscot came away from the Matlock Road Stadium with the three points and extended their unbeaten run at the ground to six matches.

The only goal of the game came from Captain Hakan Mild with a beautiful header on 18 minutes.

Alex Burnett looked dominant in the Charscot goal, keeping his second clean sheet in two matches for the club as the team won 1-0 and moved into fourth position.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards. "That was a superb performance and the team are playing really well right now and if we can keep this run of form going we can have a very good season".

"Early days yet but hopes are high".

In the Super Cup the team got it's first point in the comp with a 2-2 home draw with Colwyn Bay, courtesy of a double from Rob Rensenbrink.

Behind the scenes the manager was very busy, bringing in no less than four youth players. Two came via the auction market, one in a swap with Caglibari Calcio and a fourth one was found by their interntional scout to complete a very successful week.
26/07/2021
The visit of Salford Quays was a nightmare last season as the team lurched to defeat. This time around the team were far more solid but couldn't find the finishing touches and both sides left with a fair point.

The 0-0 draw leaves Charscot in 8th position.

Manager Rich Grove was pleased with the defensive display. "Whilst a draw is never the best of results it is an improvement on last season and more importantly we looked defensively sound. Alex Burnett had an outstanding debut and hopefully he will continue to play at that level".

Burnett's man of the match display on his debut was a pleasure to behold and for the keeper he was relieved to put his nightmare time at Southpool behind him.

In the Super Cup the club lost again, this time 1-0 at home to Barton Blitz and it will take an exceptional run of results to progress from the group stages.

In other news the club confirmed a swap of foreign players with Requiem Shark will take place next week.

Also arriving next week will be another foreign player after the bid of £ 6.850,000 for Teesside Reds' youth mid was the winning bid on the market.
19/07/2021
The first of six league derbies this season saw Charscot make the trip to League Champions Ziaste Nequeno for an important match up even this early in the season.

Ziaste have had an unbeaten start and looked to maintain that against a Charscot side resurgent after last week's thrashing of Prestatyn.

The hosts started well with an 8th minute opener from Ferris.

The game turned on it;s head shortly after half time as Kylian Mbappe scored his first goal in his second appearance, heading in on 47 minutes.

11 minutes later Hakan Mild hit his second of the season as he hammered home from 18 yards.

The visitors looked to have secured an enormous away win until Silver scored with 5 minutes left to finish the scoring in a 2-2 draw.

The result leaves Ziaste in 5th position and Charscot in 7th position but both within a win of top spot.

Manager Rich Grove was disappointed post match. "We worked so hard to get a lead so to lose it late on hurts a bit. However, it is still early in the season and the side won't gel for some time yet so an away point should not be sniffed at. However, we have to keep winning at home to alleviate any pressure on the road games going forward".

In the WPL Super Cup the side lost 1-0 at home to Vanbrugh Royals.
12/07/2021
After an opening day loss both hosts Charscot and visiting Prestatyn Town knew a win on week 2 would provide an enormous boost and get the season off and running. Last season the hosts won 4-0 and today they came close to repeating that scoreline.

Hakan Mild opened the scoring on 16 minutes with an exquisite lob and there was no change in the score until the 67th minute.

Zebeto, who had come on seven minutes earlier, scored his first career goal with a spectacular volley to double the lead.

Seven minutes later Josef Bican scored for the second game running with a magnificent header.

The win  moves Charscot up to 7th place and leaves Town bottom of the division.

Manager Rich Grove was ecstatic afterwards. "That was a far better performance and exactly what we needed. The changes seemed to work and all the players can be pleased with the effort they put in. We now need to replicate that level consistently, starting with a derby at unbeaten Champions Ziaste next week".
05/07/2021
Opening day is a time of hope but is rarely an easy tart as the team travelled to St Joseph's BC, consistently title challengers in recent seasons.

Last season the Wolverines recorded an excellent 2-1 win in this fixture but today the tables were turned as BC recorded thew 2-1 win.

It took just 42 seconds for Charscot to trail and a second goal just past the half hour mark sealed their fate.

Josef Bican scored what proved to be a consolation goal with a fine lob on 81 minutes.

The result leaves Charscot in 13th, a position they owned for most of last season.

Manager Rich Grove cut a grim figure post match. "This was one of our few wins last season so to already be 3 points down is a depressing fact. We cannot play like this and expect anything but losses."

"Changes will be made for our home opener next week against Prestatyn Town as we have to get off to winning ways as quickly as possible".

The draw for the first round of the S.L.F.A Cup was made and the team have an all top flight match away to local rivals Beeston Athletic, one of four meetings of top flight clubs in the first round.

Signing new contracts today were Thorbjorn Svenssen, Zebeto, Hakan Mild, Lubo Moravcik, Gunter Netzer, Rafael Gordillo and Ignacio Zoco.

Meanwhile Kierrison announced his retirement as he plans to retire at the end of this season at the age of 36.
28/06/2021
The final day trip to Broomhall Lions had for a long time looked like a relegation decider but after scraping to safety a couple of weeks ago this match had zero meaning to it...and it showed.

Lions on their farewell top flight performance took a fourth minute lead before Gunter Netzer scored in only his second appearance to level the scores. And that was it.

The team finishes 13th, albeit 7 points clear of relegation but a whopping 10 points adrift of the team in 12th !

Manager Rich Grove was still in celebratory mode after the game having taken the title with the fourth team, Ziaste Nequeno. "An awful season at Charscot ends thankfully and we can only hope to be vastly more competitive next season. Anything less and we will relegate. We got a big warning this season. Meanwhile time will be spent celebrating Ziaste's success before all attention return to the Wolverines".

One move made for next season sees Alex Burnett arrive from Southpool for £ 6,780,000. He is expected to start next season and fans will be nervously watching to see if he can be more consistent between the sticks than the current two choices.

With the end of the season comes the awards for the players. This season one player dominated the awards as few players impressed in a poor season.

Hakan Mild arrived a season ago in a shock deal after proving himself a scoring machine at Zombie Nation. Whilst his scoring is down this season he still top scored in a team that struggled to create chances, let alone take them.

For this Hakan was rewarded with the club captaincy last week and this week the fans voted him Player of the Year and the only new entrant to the club's Hall of Fame.

The Young Player of the Year award was a one horse race too as Roger Piantoni won in a landslide. He is expected to win the award again next season.

Only 3v players played in every game as the team struggled to gel. Along with Hakan Mild Rafael Gordillo and retiring legend Jose Maria played every match.

Jose Maria retires today as the greatest player in the club's history. He has broken all the records at the club, winning 18 honours, including no less than 7 player of the year awards. He has won the Premier Division twice, the S.L.F.A Cup once, Division One and been runner up in the cup too.

He has broken the club appearance record with 483 appearances (21 of those as a sub), smashing Billy Dane's record by 61 games.

He is the club's leading scorer with a record that may never be beaten, having scored 141 goals, an astonishing 56 goals more than any other player in the club's history.

He is retiring and will be joining the club staff as an attacker coach. The club has announced the West Stand will be renamed in his honour, the first time this has happened for a player at the club with it being called The Jose Maria End from next season.
21/06/2021
A poor defeat as the team crumbled against a Shaolin F.C side chasing a top 3 finish.

Sandor Kocsis scored a close range tap in on 14 minutes but the team conceded quickly and again either side of half time to lose 3-1.

The team is already certain to finish 13th.

Manager Rich Grove was unimpressed afterwards. "That was a hard day for us. We tried something different and chucked Gunter Netzer in at the deep end and the end result was a disjointed performance to put it mildly. Another week of experimenting next week and hopefully the players will feel less pressure in the final game of the season".

With the club looking to the future the decision on a new club captain has been made. After captaining the team for 394 games in total next week Jose Maria is retiring to take on a coaching role within the club.

In his place Hakan Mild will continue the trend of attackers captaining the team and it is hoped he will have a long future as the club captain.

The manager has been less than convinced by the performance of the three keepers that were at the club this season and he has agreed a deal to bring in Alex Burnett from Southpool. Hopefully Alex can take the opportunity and possibly make himself first choice going forward.
14/06/2021
Relegation has loomed for most of the season after an excellent start quickly descended into chaos. The team has struggled for any consistency and went into week 29 with a couple of scenarios to survive the threat of relegation.

Results elsewhere saw Broomhall Lions draw and relegate and Wascisco Red Sox win 1-0. The Sox win meant Charscot had to win at The Academy to guarantee survival.

The team put in a mighty rearguard action as they were outplayed for most of the match.

However, the team took an early lead through a Jose Maria drive which was doubled on 26 minutes as Josef Bican headed home.

Those goals were enough to record a 2-0 win and stay up.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards. "What a great battling performance. We had to really dig deep to get a win today and we achieved that and I couldn't be prouder of the efforts we made. We now have to make sure we never find ourselves in danger of relegation again. We have the squad to win the league and at the very least we need to be challenging in future".

With 2 weeks left in the season moves may be afoot to reduce the squad down in size. More news expected during the week.
07/06/2021
Visiting Beeston Athletic arrived at The Blue Silver Stadium knowing they had to up their game at a ground they have historically been bad at. With one win and 3 draws from 13 visits surely the top six side would make the most of Charscot's struggles ?

Seemingly not. Charscot have had to surprisingly rely on a tight defence in recent weeks as the goals have dried up and the team spent long periods of the match doing just that as the visitors controlled the game.

However, with 15 minutes left Charscot had a rare counter attack and club captain Jose Maria hit a spectacular 35 yarder to give the team a lead they held on to.

At the final whistle the crowd burst onto the pitch to celebrate an enormous 3 points after hearing local rivals Wascisco had won at main relegation rivals Broomhall Lions.

The win leaves Charscot 7 clear of newly 14th placed Wascisco Red Sox and 8 points clear of Broomhall Lions.

Manager Rich Grove couldn't contain his delight post-match. "That was such a good defensive performance. We are an attack minded side usually but whilst we have struggled to score , defensively we have been excellent, keeping 5 clean  sheets in our last ten games and only conceding more than a solitary goal once in that period".

"We now go to The Academy, where we have lost our last six by the same 0-1 scoreline, knowing a point could be all we need".

The draw for next season's Super Cup was made during the last week and the club have been drawn against local rivals Vanbrugh Royals along with Barton Blitz and Colwyn Bay.

The second of 3 consecutive derby matches saw Charscot visit Dep El Celtico, a club that frequently beats the Wolverines.

History was a good indicator as the struggling Charscot line up showed some truly atrocious finishing, wasting chance after chance and ultimately losing the game.

Dep El raced into a two goal lead early on and Rafael Gordillo's goal on 31 minutes felt like a comeback goal only for the wasteful finishing to destroy those hopes.

At the final whistle the visiting fans made their feelings known in some unpleasant scenes that saw the club apologising collectively post-match for the performance.

Manager Rich Grove cut a dejected figure in the press room afterwards. "That was just plain bad. To create so many chances and yet fail so spectacularly to even get them on target is simply unacceptable. If we carry on like this our relegation will be thoroughly deserved."

"We return home to face another local rival in Beeston Athletic. Beeston have had an excellent season on their return to the top flight and we simply have to win the match as Broomhall Lions continue to be a threat to catch us".

Goalkeeper Gianpiero Combi requesated to leave the club looking for a fresh challenge and the club has allowed him to leave for Wascisco Red Sox, where he is expected to be first choice for them.

The club is not expected to bring in a replacement for him as the manager already felt that having 3 in the first team was possibly one too many.
24/05/2021
Visitors Wascisco Red Sox are not only on their way to relegation but came to The Blue Silver Stadium knowing they have been atrocious in this fixture over the years and had yet to record a win in 13 visits.

Charscot however are struggling for goals, scoring one in the last six matches and this failing is keeping the Wolverines on the verge of relegation despite four clean sheets in the last five matches.

In the circumstances the resultant goalless draw was a surprise to few and did nothing to help either side.

Charscot remain 5 points above the relegation spots with another derby match to come next week.

Manager Rich Grove was unimpressed. "That was a pretty dull affair that we should have won and piles the pressure onto the last five matches. We have to win at Dep El Celtico next week to relieve the pressure at the bottom with five matches remaining".
17/05/2021
Having not scored in five matches changes had to be made as Charscot visited A.F.C. Binfield knowing a loss could see the team drop into the bottom 3.

Thankfully the team put in a solid performance, taking victory with a Hakan Mild solo goal after ten minutes.

The hosts rarely threatened and the team were glad to hear that results elsewhere saw the team regain their 5 point lead over the bottom 3.

Manager Rich Grove was ecstatic afterwards. "That was the sort of battling performance I was desperate to see from the team. We need to build on this and look for back to back derby wins in the next two weeks. If we can take maximum points from the next two matches we will have put ourselves in an excellent position to survive. However, any lack of application and we will lose both and be in deep trouble".
10/05/2021
Not much was expected of Charscot as they traveled to title challengers Spondon Phoenix, and that is exactly what they got as some truly woeful finishing saw the team squander many chances on their way to a 0-1 loss.

The loss moved the team closer to relegation with main rivals Broomhall Lions winning to reduce the gap to two points.

Manager Rich Grove was fuming afterwards. "We cannot keep missing so many chances and expect anything from our matches. If we don't get back to winning ways immediately then relegation is a certainty and we should all be ashamed if that happens".

With relegation looming wholesale changes at the club may well make up the near future.
03/05/2021
Balham Town visited The Blue Silver Stadium for a relegation six-pointer looking to close the gap on Charscot. With the hosts having a 7 point lead over Town, lying in 15th a win would have been a potentially season deciding result.

However, an even match saw the two sides fail to make a dent in the opposition and both had to settle for a point from a goalless draw.

The draw leaves Charscot 5 points above the bottom three and struggling for wins still.

Manager Rich Grove was concerned post-match. "That was a hard match for us and whilst disappointed we couldn't win a second consecutive clean sheet is an improvement in itself. However, we have now failed to score in our last four matches and if we don't stop that run we will relegate".

With the squad still failing to prove themselves up to the challenge the club completed the deal from 3 months ago as Rivellino finally arrived at the club from Mos Eisley in the MOA.
26/04/2021
A trip to Rhyl F.C has been a very mixed bag over the years but with the hosts still having a shot at the title Charscot went into this match as underdogs with relegation looming for the Wolverines.

The manager made changes and bolstered the midfield and the result was another dominant performance from Charscot but without any of the silly defensive mistakes that have hurt the team this season. The 0-0 may not have been the most exciting of results but who knows how important that point could be in 9 weeks ?

The point sees Charscot edge five points clear of the bottom three and with a big match against 15th placed Balham Town next week.

Manager Rich Grove was brief post match. "That was a decent point but we have a lot of work still to do if we want to be safe this season. We have a big match next week and a hard week of work ahead in preparation.!
19/04/2021
Charscot hosted Long Eaton Archers desperate for a win and it showed in a patchy game as neither side looked particularly impressive.

As has been the case for most of this season Charscot can find ways to lose in even the most dull of games and they did so as they fell asleep at the back on 77 minutes and conceded the only goal of the game.

The loss leaves Charscot four points off of the bottom three and increasingly looking likely to relegate at the end of the season.

Manager Rich Grove was clearly unhappy post match. "That was another dull game and an equally uninspiring performance from the team. We didn't deserve to lose but we did little to win either and in those sort of games we have generally lost this season".

"We now have to pull away as quickly as possible as if we don't get a run of wins soon it is clear we will end up in Division One".

Behind the scenes a new contract was announced for Josef Bican, who has been one of the few impressive players in a dire season.
12/04/2021
Charscot travelled to Zombie Nation on the back of a four game unbeaten run knowing a win would move the team above the hosts.

That became a pipe dream as the Wolverines put in a poor performance, losing the game 1-0 to a goal from Charscot old boy Matthias Sindelar.

The loss leaves the team five points off of a relegation spot and 5 adrift of Zombie above them.

Manager Rich Grove was clearly unhappy afterwards. "That was a pitiful performance. We still did enough to get something from the match but our composure let us down and we have paid dearly for that. We now have to beat Long Eaton Archers next week as we can't keep hoping the 3 teams below us will keep losing, one of them is bound to have a winning run sooner or later".

Youth forward Yuri Kristantin left for Zakreze today. He has reached the limit of his potential at the club and the hope is a fresh start and potentially focused training can result in him having a career as a pro in the future.
05/04/2021
Charscot welcomed the league leaders Ziaste Nequeno to The Blue Silver Stadium for an enormous local derby as the two teams both needed the points for very different reasons.

At the end of the match the hosts were far the happier as Charscot extended their unbeaten run to four games and recorded a 4-1 win that was thoroughly deserved.

After 15 minutes Milivoje Novakovic put Charscot ahead with a brilliant 30 yarder.

Despite dominating the second goal didn't come until the hour mark but it was a club record breaker.

Aldo Duscher had waited all season for his debut and when it came he wasted no time making his mark. In fact it took him only 30 seconds to score from close range after coming off of the bench for the fastest debutant goal by a Charscot player ever, beating the 3 minute record set by Lars Larson.

Seven minutes later Josef Bican scored a solo goal following a mazy run as he settled into his midfield position with his second goal in four games to make it 3-0.

With three minutes left Ziaste got a consolation goal from Ferris, his third against Charscot in four matches.

However there was still time left for Saturday Erimuya to score an own goal, his second in three seasons in this fixture as he slid in for a tackle but inadvertently put the ball past his own keeper.

The win keeps Charscot five points above the bottom three and facing a big trip to Zombie Nation next week knowing a win will move them above Zombie and into trouble themselves.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards. "That was a joy to watch and a much needed win to maintain our mini revival in the past 4 games. If we can get another win next week we will drag another team into the relegation battle and give ourselves more of a chance to survive".
29/03/2021
Charscot continue to be genuine relegation contenders and as such needed to extend their unbeaten run beyond the two games coming into today's match at Prestatyn Town.

Town for their part look destined for a mid table finish this season, something the Wolverines would embrace fully given the chance at this point.

The match finished 2-2, leaving Charscot five points above the top 3. Charscot led twice in the first half but by half time it was all square and a nervy second half added nothing to the final score.

On the upside both the main forwards, Hakan Mild and Jose Maria scored. Mild scoring on two minutes with a tap in and Maria punishing a disjointed back four to restore the lead on 25 minutes.

Manager Rich Grove was cautious afterwards. "That was a decent enough performance but a win would have made things look a lot better at the bottom. We face a hard match against the leaders Ziaste next week before facing Zombie Nation, directly above us in the league, the following week. The aim needs to be a minimum of four points from those two matches".
22/03/2021
A home match against St Joseph's BC has been easier of late as BC have become more successful. With BC winless in four and Charscot finally ending their losing run last week a draw today was hardly a shock to anyone.

Ignacio Zoco scored his first goal for the club with a fine drive from 18 yards on 52 minutes.

Roman Cuffaut pulled the teams level 17 minutes later with a close range shot.

The draw leaves Charscot rooted in 13th place, 5 points adrift of the team above and 5 points above the team below.

Manager Rich Grove was satisfied post-match. "Always a tricky game so a point will have to do as we prepare to face Prestatyn Town next week, who we beat 4-0 earlier this season. A win would be enormous".

The completion of many of the moving parts of ongoing deals this week left just one player to arrive from the MOA in around 7 weeks.
15/03/2021
After failing to record a league win in almost two months Charscot entered this week knowing another loss would send the team into the bottom three.

Hosting Broomhall Lions, who were directly below Charscot in the table and just a point adrift, this match took on significant importance as the hosts looked to maintain an excellent record against Lions having lost just once in 8 prior meetings.

The visitors made the most of a cagey first half, going ahead on 41 minutes as Charscot old boy Lubo Moravcik scored from close range.

The hosts continued to plod along before the manager finally had enough and brought on captain Jose Maria for the last 26 minutes.

Jose, in his retirement season, has struggled for form of late but showed no signs of those struggles as he turned the game on it's head.

Within five minutes he hit a superb lob to level the scores. Then seven minutes later his mazy run ended with a chipped cross that Josef Bican headed home for the winner.

The win leaves the teams' positions unchanged but Charscot now have a small four point cushion to the Lions with the team hosting the Champions next week.

Manager Rich Grove looked relieved afterwards. "After what has been the worst run of my managerial career the sense of relief at winning today cannot be understated. We clearly have a lot of hard work ahead of us but hopefully this is the first of many steps to a brighter future".

A busy week behind the scenes as a number of managers reacted to last week's news item by making contact and after some discussions a four team deal has been agreed.

Charscot will be sending Armando Alonso to Real Madrid next week with Josef Bican following later in the season. Arriving at the club will be a youth defender from Dep El Celtico, who will only stay half a season and a midfielder from the MOA who will arrive at the club in around 8 weeks.

It is another case of seeing the squad size reduced and it is believed the manager is happy to leave the squad at the size it will be after these deals.
08/03/2021
A mess. That was the way the manager Rich Grove described the team today after the team lost it's seventh consecutive league game, a club record.

"We are clearly in disarray, the team is a mess and at this point I am left wondering if we will ever win a game again." The manager lamented.

"Hard to see how we can turn this around but if we are going to it's clear we simply have to beat next week's visitors Broomhall Lions, who are directly below us in the league".

The match had started brightly with Hakan Mild scoring his fifth of the season but by half time the team were 2-1 down and spent a frustrating second half failing to find the killer touch needed to score again.

Rumours of deals failed to come to pass although the manager did confirm further discussions would happen over the next few days.
01/03/2021
The club is in disarray. That was the headline from the local paper yesterday as Charscot continue to look like a team destined to relegate.

The team equalled the club record of six consecutive losses as The Academy returned home with the points after a 2-0 win in which the hosts barely got out of first gear.

The manager Rich Grove was very brief post-match as rumours circled that the board were going to make a change in the leadership.

"I sound like a scratched record as once again we simply were not good enough and it seems the players just don't care. If this carries on they will relegate, simple as that."

After two hours of behind the scenes discussions between the board and the manager the board confirmed they intended to keep the manager position unchanged as they feel the bulk of the issues are both caused by the players and solvable given time.
22/02/2021
Visiting local rivals Beeston Athletic has been a formidable trip in recent seasons and today's trip was worse than most as the Wolverines arrived on the back of five consecutive losses in league and cup whilst Athletic lead the league.

As expected Charscot lost again, a 0-1 reverse in a match where the visitors dominated but created little of note.

The loss sent the team down to 13th place and facing a crucial match next week against The Academy, directly above them in the league.

Manager Rich Grove cut a distraught figure post-match. "That was another game where we have dominated possession but not done enough with it and again we can't defend well enough to at least take a point. We have an enormous match at home to The Academy next week and we simply have to perform at a far higher level if we want to end this atrocious run".

A quieter week behind the scenes as the manager renegotiated the deal that was to see Valentino Mazzola leave the club. After extensive talks Valentino will be given another chances at the club.
15/02/2021
Hosting a game has been a nightmare this season as Charscot lurch from one defeat to the next and visiting Dep El Celtico were looking forward to their short trip.

That enthusiasm was well warranted as Charscot dominated once again but couldn't find the net as Dep El recorded a 1-0 win to stay fourth and keep Charscot in trouble in 11th place.

Manager Rich Grove was fuming afterwards. "It is the same every week, simply not good enough. We have to start winning games soon or we will relegate, simple as that".

After the match the manager spent an hour in the dressing room lambasting the players before then spending the rest of the night in deep conversations with the board. Could the manager be close to being sacked ?
08/02/2021
Visiting Wascisco Red Sox has been a rewarding experience as Charscot have lost just once at the No Doubt Arena.

However, the team put in an atrocious performance, squandering chance after chance whilst failing to defend properly resulting in a humiliating 4-2 defeat to a team that didn't have a league win this season.

The match started poorly as the team went behind on 23 minutes before immediately responding with a penalty from Gordillo.

It took six minutes for the hosts to go back ahead before Kocsis scored shortly before half time to leave the teams level at the break.

ANy hope that the second half would see an improvement were quickly dashed as Rensenbrink put through his own net four minutes into the half.

The Wolverines then missed chance after chance before the Sox scored in the last minute.

The loss leaves the team in 11th place and officially in the relegation battle.

Manager Rich Grove was fuming afterwards. "That was truly pathetic, losing to a winless side is simply unacceptable for this club and clearly changes will have to continue to be made. We already have players leaving the club and at this rate a lot more will be leaving".

"If we can't beat the worst team in the division then we won't stay in the division. The players need to focus and put in the performances their skills allegedly imply they have or else the club will relegate".

Changes are indeed happening as two players will leave next week for a fresh start with Christian Pulisic joining Kilburn United, along with his team mate Valentino Mazzola who was already joining United.

In a further blow to the club Leonidas Da Silva has seen his career at the club ending within hours of joining the club after text messages criticising the manager came to light. He will depart for Spondon next week.

The manager has made it clear more changes may well come as the squad is brought down in numbers.

Drawing a team from Division 2 should have been a respite for Charscot and their poor league form but today's cup match proved to be the opposite as Teesside Reds took just nine minutes to go two up and secure their progress to the second round.

Hakan Mild did get a goal early in the second half but it wasn't enough and the Wolverines lost 2-1.

Manager Rich Grove was fuming afterwards. "I can only send my congratulations to Teesside and their manager on a deserved win and wish them all the best for the rest of the season as they chase promotion and hopefully more cup success. However, as far as my own players go I am beyond disgusted with their performances in recent matches and changes will happen as this simply cannot continue as the season has become a disaster to put it mildly."

More changes as the manager looks to freshen up the squad with Valentino Mazzola departing for Kilburn United of the WS in a fortnight.

His departure is part of a swap deal that sees two new players join the club. Leonidas Da Silva will arrive on Wednesday from Kilburn United with youth midfielder Morgan Whittaker joining from Opal side Chaddesden Celtic towards the end of the season.
25/01/2021
Visiting A.F.C Binfield have been very poor over the years against Charscot with the hosts winning 8 and drawing 4 of the 13 meetings. However, today the visitors recorded their second ever victory in this fixture in a tepid match.

It took Binfield just five minutes to go ahead and after that the match failed to live up to expectations as it dissolved into a tetchy affair with the home fans booing long before the final whistle.

The latest loss saw Charscot drop to 11th place and if not for the hopelessness of the bottom 3 the team would already be in deep trouble.

Manager Rich Grove was clear in his thoughts afterwards. "I am disgusted by the players and their performances in recent weeks. How they can think that that garbage is acceptable is beyond me. We will make changes for the cup next week and give others a chance to shine and if they fail too then it will be time for a rebuild clearly as I am sick of watching this pile of steaming garbage disappoint so often".
18/01/2021 Hosting Spondon Phoenix F.C has gone from a fruitful experience to a quite literally pointless one as the team has found defeat almost certain in recent meetings. Today was no different as the hosts spluttered along in a fairly nondescript performance in a match only for the diehards.

Goals in each half gave the visitors the won and sent Charscot down to a season low ninth position.

Afterwards Manager Rich Grove was in no mood to be kind to his players. "That was simply a garbage performance. We are so poor so often that relegation is more likely than a title challenge at this point. Ideally I would get rid of half of this squad and we would be no worse off for it frankly".

"At some point changing the line up has to end and these players have to play to their actual ability".

To compound the bad week the team crashed 2-0 at Abergarwed and exited the Super Cup at the group stage.
11/01/2021
A trip to Balham Town has often proved to be a very tricky proposition and the team has often left the ground without anything to show for their efforts.

However, Balham have struggled for the last season or so and this gave the Wolverines the chance to grab a much needed win, which the team took in some style.

An early penalty on 20 minutes was dispatched by Rob Rensenbrink and after this there was only going to be one winner.

Eight minutes later Milivoje Novakovic hit a superb volley from close range to double the score.

Rafael Gordillo headed in magnificently on 74 minutes, with Jose Maria scoring a fourth with a diving header four minutes later.

Stryder grabbed a consolation goal for the hosts a minute later but Charscot were not to be denied a 4-1 win.

The win moves the team back to sixth place, five points adrift of the leaders Rhyl who lost.

Manager Rich Grove said afterwards " That was a great performance but we have to play like that on a weekly basis as performing brilliantly occasionally is simply not enough to be a challenger".

"We host the team directly above us next week and anything less than a win against Spondon and this week's result becomes meaningless so we have to maintain this level over a long period".

In the Super Cup the team drew 1-1 at Longfield K.L.F after being saved by a bizarre own goal in time added on to leave the team still in with a chance to progress in the comp if they win next week.
04/01/2021
The new year starts with the visit of leaders Rhyl F.C who arrived at The Blue Silver Stadium yet to drop a point this seasons.

The hosts, looking for their first win since week 2 matched the visitors without either side particularly impressing a\nd the resultant goalless draw came as no surprise to the fans.

The draw leaves Charscot in 7th place and 8 points adrift of top spot.

Manager Rich Grove was frustrated afterwards. "Whilst we battled well there was little quality on display and we really need to show some real quality in all areas or else expect the season to yet again prove unfulfilling".

In the WPL Super Cup the team won 1-0 at home to Rivendell thanks to an Alonso header.
