Charscot visited Long Eaton Archers knowing defeat was not an option. However, the team did their best to make sure this happened anyway as a lacklustre performance meant the team lost 2-1.

A double from Ruse gave the hosts the win with Gordillo's superb free kick on 53 minutes the only response from The Wolverines.

The loss dropped the team down to 12th place and puts the pressure on for the upcoming matches.

Manager Rich Grove was very unimpressed. "We have historically done well at The Archers but that performance was just poor and we got what we deserved, nothing. Now we have to get something from our next two matches with Prestatyn and Longfield as any further defeats right now will leave us even deeper in trouble".

After falling short on trying to rebuild the defence to be an old school purely defenders, no shooting, squad, the manager changed tack and came to a deal sending two players that have not impressed him to Real Madrid.

Leaving the club is Cesar Cueto and Alvaro Gines two young tsars who have not quite made the grade.

Arriving in return is Charscot old boy Walter Nausch, who left two seasons ago to embark on his professional career, and midfielder Julio Baptista who has shown flashes of being a goalscorer but has never managed to maintain the scoring over a season.

Charscot welcomed Seabourne City looking for a first ever win against Seabourne in our league history.

City are having an excellent season and surprisingly went with a cautious line-up, which the hosts were hopeful of exploiting.

Charscot managed to make the most of it winning 1-0 courtesy of a Rivellino toe poke on 65 minutes and backed up by a clean sheet from Immel on his return from injury.

The win moved the team up to tenth place but a number of shock results meant the gap to the bottom 3 remained at 3 points.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards. "We really needed that win and beating a City side playing as well as they have this season is very satisfying. We have to now go to Long Eaton Archers and try to win again and hope for better results across the division."

In other news the manager confirmed he has been looking at a big change at the club. "With our defensive issues over recent seasons I have been looking into changing from an all bril defence to a specialist defenders lineup where the defence doesn't have great shooting. Unfortunately despite offering up 2 young all brils worth £ 35mill+ on the market the response has not been great".

"We had one brief interest from a manager who had a handful of players that fit the bill but seemingly only wanted to both have his cake and eat it by trying to offer lesser players, whilst another manager was determined to make offers for both but ultimately went quiet".

"At this point I may well see if deals are possible across our own clubs or just stay as is as it has become clear that getting swap deals with third parties has become much harder with managers getting too greedy or showing no interest in even considering swap deals. A shame but if that is the game now then they can have no complaints when I show no interest in swapping with them in the future" he stated grimly.

Charscot made the short trip to Rivendell for a relegation battle which neither team could afford to lose.

This was reflected in an even match that finished 1-1 and didn't really do anything to relax either club's fans.

Charscot took the lead on 56 minutes as Aldo Duscher toe poked home but the hosts plugged on and were rewarded with 5 minutes left as Ojamaa tapped home.

The draw drops Charscot to 12th, one place above Rivendell with Charscot just 3 points off of a relegation spot.

Manager Rich Grove was unimpressed afterwards. "I didn't feel we really did enough and to let in a late goal like that is very frustrating. We now face a hard match at home to Seabourne City next week knowing a loss could see us in the bottom 3".

The manager moved to change things up as Frantisek Planicka finished his second spell at the club as he was exchanged for David Jakeman from Mos Eisley. Both keepers needed a fresh start and it is understood the manager has more plans for the keepers when form allows.

Charscot's latest abysmal run of form continues as the team lost 2-0 at home to a struggling Prestatyn Town.

The team showed little quality in the attacking third and allowed two goal midway through the second half that leaves the team just 3 points above the relegation places in 11th.

Manager Rich Grove was angry afterwards. "Simply not good enough. We have to play much better and get back to winning ways before the season ends in our relegation".

Behind the scenes moves started to be made to the squad as Jaime Lazcano arrived from Real Madrid in a swap for Klaus Fischer and midfielder Claus Cueto was told he will be on the auction market next week.

Charscot travelled to St Joseph's BC lacking confidence on the back of two consecutive defeats and there was no sign of this run ending as the team went down weakly 3-1.

The team's goal came from Rivellino with six minutes left and the game over at 3-0.

The loss pushes Charscot down to tenth place and just six points above the relegation places. Next week's match against Prestatyn Town, in 14th place, is now crucial to the club's hopes for the season.

Manager Rich Grove was disappointed afterwards. "Losing at BC is no shock but the performance was frankly poor, with us showing little going forward and defensively it looks like Frantisek Planicka may have played his last game in goal for the club".

With two players returning from injury, another due back in a fortnight from his loan at Blackmore Knights and a swap deal with Real Madrid due to be completed next Monday the manager should have fresh options over the coming weeks to hopefully keep the club out of the relegation battle.
18/03/2024
Charscot welcomed Spondon Phoenix to The Blue Silver Stadium knowing another defeat would see the club dropping down the table and potentially going on a long losing run similar to the one that started the season.

On the day The Wolverines shooting badly let the team down as they lost 1-0.

The loss dropped the team to 8th position and if the next 4 games are losses for a second time this season the team will be in a relegation fight.

Manager Rich Grove was disappointed post-match. "We were so wasteful in the attacking third. We have to be more clinical to avoid a nervous end to the season. The loss of our keeper for 3 weeks will not help matters but will help me determine who has a future at the club next season".
11/03/2024
Charscot visited third placed Whitebrook Rangers having never lost their in 7 previous visits. However, Rangers are a far better side than the club had ever faced before and that showed as Charscot's 9 match unbeaten run ended in a five goal thriller.

Although the scoreline, 3-2, looked close, in reality Charscot never looked like winning after trailing early in the first half.

Rafael Gordillo scored a brace with two close range efforts, the first to equalise, the latter to make the scoreline close.

The loss keeps the team in sixth place but well adrift of the top five.

Manager Rich Grove was sad afterwards. "We had hoped to keep the unbeaten run going for some time yet but we just couldn't do enough to avoid defeat and we now host another high flying side in Spondon Phoenix next week desperate to get a win".
04/03/2024
Charscot faced a big challenge today as second placed A.F.C Binfield visited The Blue Silver Stadium.

The hosts had an 8 game unbeaten run to give them confidence and that was clearly in evidence as the team raced into a two goal lead that never looked threatened.

Roger Piantoni scored his first of the season on 16 minutes, driving home from close range.

The scoreline doubled just after the half hour mark as a Stock handball was punished by Rivellino, who scored his first penalty for the club, and his 47th goal overall.

After this the hosts controlled the game and recorded an excellent 2-0 win to move up to a season high sixth place.

Manager Rich Grove was ecstatic after the match. "Today was the start of a very hard run of fixtures and it fills us with confidence as we go into the coming games on the back of a now nine game unbeaten run. We have nothing to fear and hopefully can have a strong second half of the season".

The only bad news of the week was an injury to Jack Williams, which reduces the cover to the line up and will potentially delay a deal involving Klaus Fischer.

The unbeaten run extended to 8 games after the team played out a 1-1 draw at local rivals Wascisco Red Sox.

The team took an early lead on 10 minutes as Aldo Duscher scored from close range for his ninth club goal, a third of which have come against the Sox.

An unfortunate deflection off of Imre Schlosser's head resulted in an own goal equaliser on 26 minutes and despite both teams having numerous chances the match failed to have another goal.

The draw leaves the teams unchanged with Charscot 7th, a place above Wascisco.

Manager Rich Grove was happy enough post-match. "It is always tricky playing derby matches so a point in not a disaster by any means. However, we play second and third in our next two matches and maintaining our unbeaten run through these tricky fixtures will be a big challenge.

Behind the scenes the player to be named later in the deal sending Bernard Voorhoof to Dep EL Celtico was confirmed with Andelain sending a youth midfielder across next week and Dep El balancing out the deal with Andelain at the end of the season.
19/02/2024
Charscot's unbeaten run extended to 7 games today with a 1-1 draw at home to Balham Town.

Although Town are in a relegation place the team won't be too disappointed at maintaining the unbeaten run and keeping half the division below them, still sitting in 7th place.

The team had to rely on a Steve Calladine own goal just after the half hour mark to equalise a Linighan goal 7 minutes earlier.

The hosts could have won the match but fell short in front of goal.

Manager Rich Grove was content afterwards. "Obviously we always want to win but avoiding defeat on the back of a run with so many wins is far from a disaster. We can hopefully return to winning ways at Wascisco next week as we owe them one for recent defeats".
12/02/2024
Charscot made the trip to Champions The Academy on the back of 5 wins and a draw in their last 6 games.

The team hasn't done well of late at Estadio Olympia but turned in an excellent performance to win a thriller.

It started poorly as ex-Charscot player Mahmoud El-Khatib scored a tap in on 17 minutes.

Defender Dean Lorde headed his first career goal ten minutes later to level the scores.

Imre Schlosser scored after a mazy run on 39 minutes to give The Wolverines the lead before Ehrhoff tapped home right on the half time whistle.

2-2 and a thrilling first half was over.

The second half saw a lot of chances but no goals going late into the match before Imre Schlosser toe poked home with 4 minutes left for a big road win 3-2.

The win moves the team up to 7th place.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted. "That is as good a result as is possible, a win at the reigning Champions. Really pleased with my players and the resolve they have shown to go on this 7 game unbeaten run after losing the first 5, particularly with 6 of those 7 games being wins".

"We have a lot of work still to do this season but hopefully we can keep the momentum going and make the relegation fears a thing of the past".

Charscot welcomed the return to the league after a break last week as the team welcomed local rivals Vanbrugh Royals to The Blue Silver Stadium.

The team's record against the Royals is exceptional, with only 2 league defeats in 21 previous meetings  but losing the last meeting after 3 consecutive draws meant The Wolverines needed to produce something.

The match was an open entertaining one and looked destined to finish goalless when substitute Chakvetadze gave away a silly free kick for kicking the ball away.

From the free kick the team went down the right hand side before a beautiful cross was headed home by Rivellino to secure the 1-0 win. This was his third consecutive scoring league match (4 goals) and has turned the season around it seems.

The 1-0 win moved the team up to 9th place and although next week a loss at The Academy seems likely the team will hopefully be in position to get away from any relegation battle.

"Manager Rich Grove couldn't hide his delight afterwards. "That was a brilliant end to a very entertaining match. I am really pleased for our players who have put in a lot of work to recover from losing the first five matches this season.  There is still a lot of work to do but we are hopefully heading in the right direction".

Further good news came from the international scout, who found a gem of a youth player this week who will be joining the club next Monday. He looks to have a great future ahead of him.

Charscot took a break form league action as they travelled to Ynysfawr Athletic, who are having a great season in Division 3 so far and are looking good for promotion.

The match looked like it was going the way of Charscot when Sandro Tonali scored off of the bench with a sweet lob with just 7 minutes left.

However the hosts equalised four minutes later taking the game to extra time where Roger Piantoni diverted a cross past his own keeper to give the hosts a place in the second round.

Manager Rich Grove was disappointed but not downhearted after the match. "Today was always a game we could easily lose and losing in extra time is just one of those things and as long as it doesn't affect us in the league going forward then it may not be the worst thing having our focus exclusively on the league".

More movements at the club as youth player Jules Farrier left the club for Caernarfon Town with experienced midfielder Hallsteinn Porirsson arriving in exchange. It is hoped Hallsteinn will make the most of a fresh challenge after a career that has underwhelmed so far.

Charscot travelled to Shaolin F.C knowing a win would take the team out of the bottom 3 for the first time this season on the back of what would be a 4 game unbeaten run.

The result looked in serious doubt when the hosts took the lead after just 35 seconds after a lovely Oliviera chip from 25 yards.

Just before the half hour mark Rivellino hit an even sweeter lob to level the scores.

In the 41th minute Charscot took the lead as Spencer headed home nicely to give The Wolverines a 2-1 lead.

In an open match the second half saw both teams go close before two goals in two minutes finished the game as a contest.

Aatos Lehtonen scored his second goal in only five appearances, chipping home from 30 yards on 84 minutes and a minute later Rivellino headed home to complete the 4-1 scoreline.

The result moved the team up to 12th place as the league takes a break for the first round of the cup next week.

Manager Rich Grove was ecstatic afterwards. "That was a superb result and the recent run gives us a big hope of pulling away from the relegation battle in the coming months. We get to face a hard match at Ynysfawr next week knowing we will stay out of the bottom 3".

The team moved towards a more cut down squad as two players left the club. Karl Koller joined Ziaste Nequeno whilst Bernard Voorhoof's transfer to Dep El Celtico came with a proviso.

Dep El will have to in time offer a acceptable swap in exchange or, if none can be found, they will return Voorhoof to Charscot so the club can find a swap deal or list on the auction market.

Charscot welcomed high-flying Longfield K.L.F on the back of winning our last two matches knowing a win would take the team out of the bottom 3.

It took KLF a mere 48 seconds to open the scoring with a close range tap in from Hayhurst and for long periods Charscot wasted clear opportunities, frequently shooting wide from good positions.

The equaliser came from a Rivellino tap in just past the hour mark but the hosts couldn't find a winner and had to settle for a point.

The draw keeps the club in 14th place on a week when the bottom two both won.

Manager Rich Grove had mixed feelings after the match. "A point against a team playing as well as KLF can never be considered a bad reuslt but we wasted so many clear opportunities and that is slightly frustrating when we still sit in the bottom 3".

"We now go to Shaolin next week knowing a win will take us out of the bottom 3".

The team finished it's Super Cup campaign with a goalless draw at home to The Academy.

Rumours continue to circle the club that more personnel changes are expected and it may be that the manager looks to AM some players as he grows disheartened by the apparent death of decent swap offers in the game these days with so many managers looking to fund via the market or scouting and few interested in swap deals.

Charscot made the trip to fellow strugglers Rhyl F.C knowing a second win of the season was imperative if the team wants to make any real move towards safety.

The Wolverines put in a dominant performance and for long periods it looked like their efforts were not going to be rewarded before a late goal earned the team an enormous three points.

Aatos Lehtonen tapped home from close range with 8 minutes left to secure a 1-0 road win.

The win moved the team up to 14th but still with a lot of work to do.

Manager Rich Grove was delighted afterwards. "That was a must win game and we were very focused and fully deserving of the win. If we can keep playing like that we can get ourselves out of the relegation battle but any drop of standards will see us stuck in the bottom three all season".

In the Super Cup the team drew 0-0 at home to Beeston Athletic, a result that means the team will not progress out of the group stages.

Charscot started the New Year with the first points of the season as the team finally won, beating visiting Long Eaton Archers 2-1 to move off of bottom spot.

The result was far less impressive than it appears as the visitors played with only 10 men for 62 minutes due to trying to field an ineligible player.

In that time the hosts managed to score no goal at all, only recording one shot on target in that period.

After that though the team got the boost it needed as Zebeto scored the quickest goal as a sub ever , coming on and scoring in the 64th minute and lobbing the keeper.

A busy minute as the visitors went straight down the other end and equalised much to the manager's frustration.

Thankfully Rivellino drove home from six yards out to secure the win six minutes later.

The team is still in deep trouble going into the trip to bottom side Rhyl FC next week.

In the Super Cup the team kept their qualification hopes alive with a 1-0 win at Goal United, courtesy of a Rivellino penalty.

Manager Rich Grove was relieved post-match. "We really needed that. We now have to build on this and make sure we get something from our trip to Rhyl next week or else we will just be back bottom of the division. AN enormous match even at this early stage".
